CLAIR PHASE 1 DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Allards International Ltd is delighted to announce a very significant major contract for the prestigious CLAIR PHASE 1 DEVELOPMENT PROJECT.

The order from BP Exploration Operating Company Limited has been secured for the Dundee and Angus Oil Venture Group member ALLARDS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED. The contract for the design, manufacture and supply of twelve (12) large shell and tube heat exchangers represents the company’s biggest single order for the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry. The units are destined for the BP Clair Production Platform Topsides, West of Shetland and will be installed offshore, in the summer of 2004. The equipment includes a variety of Crude Inlet and Separator Heaters, Suction and Discharge Coolers and Fuel Gas Heat Exchangers. Designed for the harsh North Sea environment the various units, including the high-pressure units will be manufactured in either Carbon Steel or Duplex Stainless material.

The units have been ordered through the main Engineering Procurement Contractor for BP Clair, Wood Group Engineering Ltd/Mustang Engineering Inc. from Houston Texas with local delivery scheduled from October 2002 until March 2003. Allards International Ltd successfully worked through an extensive pre-qualification exercise for BP Clair, beginning in early summer of 2001, undertaken by Wood Group Engineering Ltd, Aberdeen. With tender submissions invited for November 2001, Mustang Engineering Inc., Houston who are managing the engineering procurement, liased directly with Allards International Ltd and the successful award was placed on the company in March 2002.

Allards International Ltd are undertaking all the thermal and detailed mechanical design of the shell & tube heat exchangers, with the manufacture being completed by the partner company Allards Verkstäder AB, in Falun Sweden. Allards International Ltd was created to provide Heat Transfer Solutions to the Oil & Gas Industry, with Allards Verkstäder AB, established in 1856 providing the manufacturing experience to support the ever-challenging international heat transfer market.

Recent Offshore Oil & Gas Industry experience now includes a number of projects in partnership with Kværner Process Systems (KPS) Norway. Allards have completed the manufacture of three Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Recovery Process Module components to be installed in Shuttle tankers operated by Navion. The equipment including the main absorption columns (12m high by 3.5m diameter working at 15 bar pressure) and the knock out drums (6m high by 2.5m diameter operating at 3.5 bar pressure) have been manufactured at Allards Verkstäder AB in Falun, Sweden. Norsk Hydro has now ordered further VOC Recovery Process Systems.

Allards International Ltd and Allards Verkstäder AB specialise in the design and manufacture of process equipment that includes shell and tube, rolled tube heat exchangers, welded plate exchangers, petroleum storage tanks, self-cleaning strainers and various other tanks and pressure vessels.
