The fully Welded Plate Heat Exchanger integrated with a Shell combines the merits of Shell and Tube heat exchangers with the advantages of conventional Plate heat exchanger technology. The Welded Plate heat exchanger consists of a fully welded plate pack of circular plates welded together and installed into a pressure vessel (shell) offering many benefits including:
Welded Plate Heat Exchanger Flow Diagram Design Benefits
• Fully welded construction, very strong mechanically • Compact size and low weight • High design pressures, over 100 bar can be achieved • Wide range of temperatures (-60°C to +450°C) • Manufactured to all design codes including ASME VIII, PD5500 • Fully compliant with PD2014/68/EU • No gaskets • Wide range of metallurgies including Stainless Steel, 254SMO, Hastelloy and Titanium plate material.
Welded Plate Heat Exchanger with removable Plate Pack - SS316L BP Exploration - Egypt Thermal Performance Benefits
• High heat transfer coefficients • High thermal effectiveness
Operational Benefits
• Reliable with no gaskets to fail or be replaced • Easy to operate with minimal maintenance • High working temperatures and pressures; excellent operational flexibility • High safety (plate-pack inserted into pressure vessel; no fluid mixing) • Can handle thermal shocks • No leakages; environmental protection • Removable plate pack option available if required, allowing access for cleaning.
Welded Plate Heat Exchangers can be used in both single phase and two-phase duties for:
• Oil & Gas Production - Onshore & Offshore • Refineries & Petrochemical Plants • Nuclear Industry • Heating & Cooling • Condensation & Evaporation • Heat recovery • District heating
Example fluid combinations include:
• Water / Sea Water / Steam • Heat Transfer Fluids • Amine / Glycols • Hydrocarbons • Condensate • Petrochemical fluids
Allards International Ltd use specially developed in-house software to thermally and mechanically design each heat exchanger according to code and client specifications.
