Welded Plate Heat Exchangers |

Overview
Fully welded plate heat exchangers (shell-and-plate heat exchangers) combine the features of conventional plate heat exchangers within a fully welded shell, yet require only a fraction of the space of an equivalent shell-and-tube heat exchanger. These exchangers are very compact, space-saving units, with a high transfer coefficient for greater efficiency. The plates also produce a high performance due to the turbulent flow created by the plate patterns.
Design benefits • High design pressures, typically up to 60 bar, however can be designed up to 100 bar • High design temperatures (-60°C to +450°C) • Manufactured to all design codes including ASME VIII, PD5500 • Fully compliant with PED 97/23/EC and CE Marked • Removable cover option available if required, allowing removal of plate pack • Circular plate packs from 180 to 1000mm diameter • Wide range of metallurgies including stainless steel, duplex, 254SMO and titanium
Operational benefits • Reliable, maintenance free without gaskets • High working temperatures and pressures; operational flexibility • High safety (plate-pack inserted into pressure vessel; no fluid mixing) • Can handle thermal shocks • No leakages; environmental protection
Example fluid combinations include: water/sea-water/steam; amine/glycols; hydrocarbons; condensate; petrochemical fluids.
The exchangers have a multitude of applications within the following sectors: • Oil and gas production and refining • Chemical processing • Pharmaceuticals and speciality chemicals • HVAC, district heating, energy and utilities • Power generation
